Board Meeting 8/8/2009

President Don Ferren called the meeting to order at 6 PM.

We discussed the society’s new tax requirements.  Vice-president Jim Fisher has been researching the issue.  He will file forms to officially change our name with the Secretary of State, something we thought had been done many years ago. At the same time we will renew our tax exempt status. Once that is done, we can file our tax forms with the IRS.

We discussed starting an annual Space Camp scholarship for Carver Magnet School to help one of two students attend. Sandy will discuss with them first.

The Annual Meeting will be held at Thompson Library on December 14th at 6:30.

A motion was made for CAAS to join the IDA and it was passed.
