Bigger is better could have been George Ellery Hale’s motto. He not only built the biggest telescope in the world at the time – he built three of them. Each one is a remarkable story of it’s own. Steve Block and Stephen Caldwell have both researched Hale and have put together a presentation to tell his story and his telescopes story at this months meeting. You’ll see how indebted we are to Mr. Hale for our knowledge, interest, and enthusiasm of the universe. By the way his three largest telescopes were Yerkes, Mt. Wilson, and Mt. Palomar.Meeting at 7:00 pm July 12 at RRO. Supper Bowl at 6:00 pm.
