Join CAAS and our friends at Woolly Hollow State Park for a free star party. Weather permitting, we’ll set up telescopes at the lake and show your universe.

Regular Monthly Meeting Saturday June 25 at 7 PM

CAAS Monthly Meeting
Join us on June 25th at 7 PM for our regular monthly meeting, 6 PM if you are going to join us for the supper bowl. We’ll have a presentation and observing afterward if conditions allow. As always, meetings of the Central Arkansas Astronomical Society are open to the public.

Our guest speaker this month is former member, Charles Hemann. Director for 15 years in the Andrews Independent School District before that 12 years as Assistant Director of the University of Arkansas at Little Rock Planetarium giving educational presentations to Kindergarten thru College. Worked with teachers and pre service teachers thru the NASA Educator Resource Center when housed at the University of Arkansas at Little Rock Planetarium and for the Sibley Nature Center thru Region 18 Education Service Center in Midland Texas. Taught Astronomy at College and High School level for more than 26 years. Also Informal educational presentations to Adults, Families, Home school groups, Scout groups, and Astronomy clubs. A Jet Propulsion Laboratory Solar System Ambassador for the State of Texas since 1998.
