Public Star Party at Pinnacle Mtn State Park, July 23 Update

The weather forecast for star gazing Saturday evening is quite frankly not good.  http://www.accuweather.com/us/ar/little-rock/72201/outdoor-astronomy.asp Therefore, the scheduled star party at Pinnacle Mountain State Park tomorrow evening will move indoors with a special presentation of the outstanding PBS documentary “Seeing in the Dark” at 9 p.m. in the auditorium inside the Visitor Center.  With “Seeing in the Dark” award winning author and film maker Timothy Ferris explores the exciting world of amateur astronomy.   http://www.pbs.org/seeinginthedark/ Ferris writes about the film: “The awe-inspiring sight of a sky full of stars can render us speechless—and understandably so. Two very different entities are involved, and they’re both rather mysterious.”   “Seeing in the Dark” should not be missed by anyone who has ever looked to the night sky in wonder!
The film last approximately an hour.  Admission is FREE and the film is suitable for all audiences.  If skies do clear we will have a cadre of telescope ready to go.
Clear skies!
