Sept. 19th – International Observe the Moon Night – Come join us!

InOMN%20Hub

InOMN is an event sponsored by various NASA agencies and scientists in an effort to simply get people outside and looking up at our nearest celestial neighbor.

Come join the Central Arkansas Astronomical Society and the UALR Physics and Astronomy Dept. in association with the Innovation Hub in North Little Rock on the night of September 19th as folks from all around the world come together to celebrate the Moon. We will have a variety of telescopes set up for detailed views of the lunar surface, programs on how to observe the Moon, samples from UALR’s very fine meteorite collection, music, as well as food and drink.

As the Hub is located in downtown Argenta you can also take advantage of the area’s many fine restaurants and pubs.

It will be a fun evening for one and all!

The event is free and open to the public without any registration required and family friendly.

Feel free to pass this info along to anyone else you know who might want to take part and if you are not already, click the button to the left and start receiving email newsletters about other astronomy related events in Central Arkansas.  It is free.

(Note:  This is not the same as the full lunar eclipse event (blood moon), which will take place later in the month and is hosted by CAAS at its observatory near wye. mtn. north of Lake Maumelle.  That event, while also free, and family friendly does require pre-registration.  Please see the separate post for that event.)
