Feature Packed Regular Monthly Meeting, February 14

10984458_793020154066929_7495091403948637403_n Mark your calendar, next Saturday is our regular monthly club meeting and we’d like for you to join us for an evening of astronomy!

Darrell Heath will be giving a program on the late Sir Patrick Moore, who hosted the BBC astronomy program The Sky at Night from 1957 up until his death in 2012. Sir Patrick was one of the great popularizers of amateur astronomy and The Sky at Night is the longest running TV show with the same presenter in television history! After the brief talk on Sir Patrick’s life we will watch one of the more recent episodes of the show now hosted by astronomers Chris Lintott and Maggie Aderin-Pocock. Also, one lucky person will win a copy of the latest issue of The Sky at Night magazine, along with a CD that contains an episode of the show and many other astronomy features. Constellation of the month will be Lepus by TJ Colvin.
