National Astronomy Day – May 7th, Pinnacle Mountain State Park, 2 PM – 10 PM

Please make plans to join CAAS for National Astronomy Day, Saturday, May 7th. Our friends at Pinnacle Mountain State Park will help us celebrate again this year. The fun starts at 2 p.m. at the PMSP Visitors’ Center and runs all the way until 10 p.m.  We will have solar observing, solar marshmallow roasting, meteorite displays, a Solar System Hike, screening of the outstanding PBS documentary “Telescope: Hunting the Edge of Space,” the International Dark-Sky Association display, a water rocket demonstration, a presentation by Darrell Heath, our new Jet Propulsion Laboratory “Solar System Ambassador,” an appearance by the CAAS “Bubble Boys,” and more!  And of course, in the evening we will host a public star party.
