CAAS wins the Pennant!!!

In a remarkable comeback that will go down in the history books, CAAS rallied against the other team (aka the Weather). If you recall, TW won the first two outings in this year’s best of five series putting CAAS in a must win situation.  CAAS came from behind to beat TW at Woolly Hollow and Pinnacle Mountain in July to tie up the series and now we’ve done it again.  Last night’s series finale was a beautiful evening with mild temperatures and a gorgeous sunset and around 175 members of the public.

CAAS members Jim Fisher, Robert Brown, Bill Sanders, Don & Carolaina Ferren, Carl Freyaldenhoven, Sandy & Pat Morris, and at least two more people I didn’t recognize set up their scopes to give the public a view of the universe around us.  On tap was the Moon, Venus (for the early arrivers), Jupiter, double stars, globular clusters, galaxies, constellations, and more.  The 175 people who came seemed very appreciative.

This was our last public star party of the season with the still unconfirmed November 1 event at Woolly Hollow as a possibility and other school events to come this fall.
